For over a decade now, the Fortin-Longuemare
piano duo has been performing in Canada, the USA and Europe. They
appeared at the Festival Orford, the Banff Arts Festival,
the Festival international de duo-piano du Québec (broadcast
on CBC Radio) and the Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition in Rotterdam.
In 1999, they won First Prize at the San Diego Duo Piano Competition.
Their repertoire covers both traditional pieces by Mozart, Rachmaninoff,
Poulenc, Saint-Saëns, and contemporary works by Hindemith, Lutoslawski,
Matton and Sokolovic. They work with music arrangers, composers and
other performers on a regular basis to expand the genre and bring
an enticing blend of precision, lushness and freshness to their performances.
Nathalie Fortin and Anne-Lise Longuemare met at the Montreal Music
Conservatory where they both graduated with top honors and later obtained
Doctorate Degrees in Performance at USC and UCLA, respectively. Ms.
Fortin resides in Eugene, Oregon, where she works as a coach and a
pianist. Ms.Longuemare lives in Los Angeles, California, where she
performs and teaches. |
